Ervin Brittnacher: Missing Rodeo Hall of Famer

I need to apologize for the length of time it has taken me to be able to do this entry. Ervin's nephew Jacob contacted me in September. And I have been so behind I haven't been able to get it done until now. I will say that Ervin NEVER left my mind. Not once did I forget about writing about him. Right below this is a news story regarding Ervin done in 2012. Hilarious! You can also read about the story here and here.

Shurlock

Just wanted to say that Ervin is from a different generation. Entirely different breed of a man. He didn't play around with the intruder. And he was a lot nicer than I would've been. A lot struck me about Ervin's character here. He didn't wanna hurt the guy who was pointing a gun at him in his own home. So he disarmed him and then he was STILL nice enough to look around his house in case the man was right. Which he wasn't. These types of men are what society needs more of. They didn't need their pussy ass safe spaces. They didn't cry and complain about discrimination or other social bullshit. They just worked and lived. He reminds me of my late grandfather. My late grandfather came home from a chemo treatment and mowed his own lawn. Anyways, This guy is more of a bad ass than anyone you'll see on TV or in the movies nowadays. Ok, End of rant.

 Circumstances of Disappearance

"It's just a terrible disease, Alzheimer's. He takes medication for that also, but he hasn't had that since Friday. The longer he's without his medication, it doesn't do any good. It wears off sooner or later," said Mark Brittnacher.

November 5th 2015

Ervin's son Mark went over to his dad's house on the 3000 Block of McFarland Rd in League City at around noon that day to make sure his dad took his medicine. Upon arriving Mark found his dad's dog locked in the house. And there was no sign of Ervin anywhere. Mark searched the farm for 30 minutes before calling the police. It is believed he may have walked away from his home in a confused state. When his dog was let out it ran to the end of the driveway and stopped. It's likely that was the last place the dog saw him. He didn't drive away because his truck was still in the driveway. And he didn't appear to have taken anything with him. Nor was anything taken from the home. If he did leave on foot. He couldn't have gone a considerable distance in a short period as he walked with a limp. Multiple searches of the area proved unsuccessful. Some websites state he was actually seen walking down Highway 517. I don't have a time or date on any sighting(s) Some sites even claim he was abducted.

Views of the Area

Analysis

Missing People In America did a really good video above. I got a good amount of information from it. Their conclusion was that the guy who broke into his house 3 years prior likely had something to do with it. And I disagree. The guy didn't show any ill will toward Ervin after he disarmed him. Nor is there anything that I've read that leads me to believe he harbored a grudge against him afterwards. There was no sign of a struggle at his house. Nothing was taken. The guy was high on bath salts when he attempted to burglarize the house. It wasn't like he was trying to hurt Ervin. Unless I hear something to the contrary. It makes little sense to me. I intentionally left the person's name out of the entry because quite frankly he is a piece of shit and I didn't want to acknowledge him. I know that the area has been searched numerous times by The Family, Law Enforcement, and by Texas Equusearch. But past experience in cases tells me he is still in the area. I thought of the Johnathan Lee Hamilton case when looking into this one. I said he was still in the area. And he ended up being found in Bastrop years later. Johnathan ended up going Missing in 2015. Just like Ervin did. Both have (had) conditions that required medication. I honestly hope that this case turns out better. I asked his nephew if he knew anything more about the supposed sightings of him walking down the highway and he said he didn't. He wasn't told if it was more than one person who thought they saw him. Or what direction he was walking. Without knowing more about those there isn't much you can draw from them. In all honesty, It's extremely hard to fathom a positive outcome in this case other than him being found.
