Details of Disappearance

43 Year Old Donald George "DJ" Hamaker was last seen fishing at a local strip mining pit referred as the "A" hole in Girardsville in the early morning hours of May 28th 2024. (Some reports indicate he arrived at around 3:30 am.) He went with 2 friends to fish. The pit is supposed to be closed off, But it's popular with people in the area that like to swim and fish. Later the same day, DJ's kayak was located overturned in the pit. The fishing poles were still tied up in the Kayak but his bait was on shore. Subsequent searches of the pit failed to turn up any signs of DJ. He remains missing. There was a delay in reporting DJ missing, He wasn't reported missing until 2:16 that afternoon. The reason is unknown.

Analysis

The "A-Hole" to the left. (What a name) Depths plunge to 200 feet deep in certain areas. Despite the area being privately owned, It hasn't stopped area residents from swimming and fishing in the area. At the time of DJs disappearance, There were 7 reported drowning deaths from people swimming and fishing in that location. Anyone from the area who reads this, Please stay away from this area. Or if you do anyway, Please wear a life jacket. And if anyone in a similar situation has someone they are fishing with capsize, For the love of God don't wait to report the person missing. It doesn't matter if it's private property or not. Do the right thing. Waiting 2 hours is unacceptable. I have no idea how you can sleep at night.
